Hoxton Garden School, Hackney, London
Our first year at Hoxton. We started to build the garden in February and after a month clearing massive tree trunks, old sheds and rotten bridges we constructed lots of raised beds. By June the garden looked like this and we had a huge amount of produce in just a few months. Many thanks to all of the groups of volunteers who came to help. The garden is now a safe and exciting area of the school which we can use across all curriculum subjects. The pupils love it!
Wholefoods Schools to Market, project kindly organised by School Food Matters. Pupils made chutney and sold fresh herbs and vegetables. They also enjoyed a store tour to learn about marketing and labelling.
